چکیده
Abstract At present most alpine glaciers are not in equilibrium with the current climate, as a result they undergoing dramatic mass loss. Monitoring glacial variations is crucial to assess consequences of climate change on territory. In this work different geomatics techniques exploited measure and monitor Rutor glacier over years. study two were adopted generate 3 digital surface models (DSMs): aerial satellite photogrammetry. Two photogrammetric surveys carried out: at end hydrological year 2019/20 following year. Additionally, very high-resolution stereo pair, acquired by Pléiades-1A platform 2017, was processed whether images can be applied extract 3D glacier. order evaluate mass-balance throughout years several reference points positioned measured before 2021 flight. Multi-decadal reduction in glacier velocities and mechanisms driving deceleration at polythermal White Glacier, Arctic Canada
Annual and seasonal surface velocities measured continuously from 1960 to 1970 at White Glacier, a 14 km long polythermal valley glacier spanning∼100–1800 m a.s.l., provide the most comprehensive early record of ice dynamics in the Canadian Arctic. Through comparison with differential GPSderived velocity data spanning 2012–16, we find reductions in mean annual velocity by 31 and 38% at lower el...

As a typical landform class of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, glacier is widely distributed in alpine terrain. However, field measurement is impossible in those areas because of complex terrain and adverse weather. At first, on the basis of analyzing the features of glacier image spectrum, object shape, spatial relations and environment distribution including terrain and climate, this paper combines ...

متن کاملGlacier mapping from multi-temporal optical remote sensing data within the Brahmaputra river basin
Glacier distribution and glacier changes were investigated in the Upper Brahmaputra River Basin using remote sensing and GIS in order to determine the influence of melting glaciers on the long-term runoff of the Brahmaputra River (EU-project BRAHMATINN). Current glacier distribution and glacier changes since the 1970/80s were mapped using multi-temporal optical remote sensing data from the Land...
